Standing Out at the Highest Level

This Spring, three Champion’s QUEST Soccer Academy athletes were chosen to represent their respective age groups in the Cal South PRO+ Olympic Development Program Player Pools. There, Southern California’s best soccer players will train and compete together in age-based player pools for the opportunity to be named to the Cal South State Team. The top 22 players in each age group are selected to represent Cal South in U.S. Soccer National Identification events.

Cal South is the official youth soccer association for Southern California and provides competitive opportunities for players of all ages, genders and skill levels. The areas of emphasis for PRO+ are the identification, development, inclusion, and advancement of the top male and female soccer players in Southern California. The Cal South Olympic Development Program was developed in 1977 to identify soccer players for national team pools and provide the highest level of training.

Cal South uses a comprehensive scouting system in which players are identified in a natural game-playing environment for identification. Players are selected for PRO+ in Cal South by their club technical directors, directors of coaching, team coaches and even opposing club coaches can recommend players. Individual players that are recommended this way are scouted in league play and at the Cal South State Cup and National Cup competitions.

Sherry Diep, Isabela Menes, and Isabella Yakel were chosen to the Cal South PRO+ ODP Player Pools for their respective age groups. Sherry Diep (2006) plays for Southwest Soccer Club G05 team, Isabela Menes (2005) plays for LA Galaxy South Bay-Gold team and Isabella Yakel (2004) plays for CDA Slammers FC-Cerritos team. Champion’s QUEST Soccer Academy is proud of your dedication and hard work!
