Dylan Sprangel walked through the doors of Champion’s QUEST back in July of 2016, excited to begin his journey to become the best athlete and goalkeeper possible. Dylan set short-term goals of improving his upper body strength, power seen in his jumping and his first step when accelerating. Dylan’s long-term goals are to be the Varsity team captain for his high school team and to be a starting collegiate goalkeeper.

Dylan is in his junior year at Fountain Valley High School where he will be playing for the Varsity team this upcoming season. He also plays his club soccer for LA Galaxy Orange County ’00 Flight 1 team coached by Paul Bright. Recently, Dylan’s club team participated in the OC Galaxy Summer Invitational Showcase where they won first place. Dylan recorded 3 shutouts in the 4 games of the tournament and was named tournament MVP.

At Champion’s QUEST, Dylan attends Strength, Power and Speed Clinics to develop his athleticism and the Soccer Clinics to work on his ball control to be a well-rounded goalkeeper. Since beginning training at Champion’s QUEST, Dylan has showed an 162% increase in his total athlete score in just over a year of training!

Dylan has shown improvements across the board in his athleticism. Dylan improved his approach vertical jump by 3 inches from 25.5′ to 28.5′ and was able to apply this increased power in his sprinting as well. Dylan lowered his 10-yard sprint time from 1.80s to 1.59s. Agility was one of Dylan”s biggest areas of need when he first tested at Champion’s QUEST and he was able to improve all 3 of his agility scores by a significant margin. Agility is essential for goalkeepers as a slow or incorrect first step can be the difference of making a save on a shot or letting in a goal. Dylan also showed improved upper body strength and increased his push up score by 24 repetitions, his pull up score by 4.75 repetitions and his plank hold time by 2 minutes!

In addition to training at Champion’s QUEST, Dylan is a part of the Champion’s QUEST Mentorship program. Dylan showed his dedication to the community and assisted in coaching the Soccer Camp at Champion’s QUEST this Summer. Dylan also shows his dedication in the classroom and holds an 3.3 GPA.

Keep up all the hard work Dylan and I’m excited to follow your continued success on and off the field!
