Stronger On The Ball: Naomi Dodd

Naomi Dodd is a 16-year old soccer player who has been training at Champion’s QUEST since May 2015. Naomi is currently a junior at Rosary High School in Fullerton, California and plays for CDA Slammers FC club team. Before beginning her training, Naomi set goals of improving her strength and endurance to be able to play a full game 100%.

In over 83 hours of training, Naomi has improved her total athleticism by 131%. At Champion’s QUEST, Naomi attends Strength, Speed, Power and High School Soccer Clinics to supplement her club training practices. In the last year, Naomi has shown a significant improvement in her strength. She upped her push up score from 25 to 47 repetitions in a minute and her plank hold time from 1:20 to over 4 minutes!

“Naomi was always aggressive on the soccer field but now has the strength to body up with the opposition and not fall down. If she does fall down, Naomi now pops up quicker because her body is much stronger!” –Lyle Dodd

Naomi’s has not only improved her strength since beginning training at Champion’s QUEST. She has also been able to apply this strength in her movements as well. Naomi improved her acceleration, seen in her 10-yard sprint, from 1.90s to 1.62s and her speed changing directions from 5.34s to 5.13s in her 5-10-5 test. Naomi has also seen improvements in her agility and lowered both her linear and lateral agility tests by 2 seconds each.

Naomi first came in to Champion’s QUEST with her club soccer team but continued her training even when she switched teams. “We did Champion’s QUEST before and stopped for a couple of months. Once Naomi stopped, we could see the difference. Her coach now had to take her off the field because she was too banged up. I knew we had to get her back in to Champion’s QUEST.”

Keep up all the hard work Naomi!
