Today’s focus is the biggest question in youth sports:
“WHY IS MY SON AND OR DAUGHTER NOT PLAYING?”
“WHAT CAN MY SON OR DAUGHTER DO TO GET ON THE FIELD, STAY ON THE FIELD AND BE THE BECOME THE LEADER OF THE FIELD?”
The answer is…..”CHANGE MINDSET, CHANGE PERFORMANCE”
The mindset change lies in a very powerful word… and that word is P.R.E.C.I.S.E. Now, to have a precise mindset, a young athlete must follow the champion meaning of P.R.E.C.I.S.E:
P — Stands for PLAY HARD WITH MAXIMUM EFFORT ALL THE TIME
R—-Stands for PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL ACTIONS
E— Stands for EXCELLENCE— BEING THE GOLD STANDARD ON AND OFF THE FIELD–(I DARE YOU TO BE 1ST)
C— Stands for CONFIDENCE AND CONSISTENCY–BELIEF IN ABILITIES ALWAYS
I—- Stands for INTELLIGENCE—KNOW ALL KNOWLEDGE IN THE SPORT—I.Q
S—Stands for SACRAFICE—(Giving of yourself to benefit others)—“BEING SELFLESS”
E—Stands for ENTHUSIASM—RELENTLESS PASSION IN PRACTICE AND GAMES
Listen closely parents, the best advice you can give to your athlete…. is to focus on their own actions and pursue being the most P.R.E.C.I.S.E athlete they can be. It is not about the playing time, it is about having a P.R.E.C.I.S.E mindset and by having that, the champions athlete will achieve more than playing time but will become leaders playing the game they love.
