Athletes that commit themselves to over seven years to our athletic development program, success in inevitable. Since the Fall of 2010, Tristen Camarena has been committed to our PROGRAM and improving his athletic ability in all areas. When he first started we did see a little bit of an unstable and awkward child. He went trough lots of sports from Soccer, Football, Track & Field to Wrestling where he finally found his calling. Tristen has been committed to coming in for one clinic each week and we have been able to develop his mental strength along with his physical capability.
In his senior year at CYPRESS HIGH SCHOOL for this Wrestling Season, which is his second year on Varsity, Tristen has been able to have 18 wins and 16 loses,. He wrestles the Varsity A spot at the 145 lb. class which was a big goal for him that he attained and has held all season. He has had three podium/medal finishes in different tournaments throughout the season as well.
His mother Kelly let us know that “he was disciplined enough to maintain his weight class this season has been a big thing for him.”
We have worked with Tristen in each sport that he was focused on during his growth and everyone on our coaching staff has been impressed with not only his strength but his respect towards all our staff. We all have noticed him to be a capable young man. This comes from his up being and attending church every Sunday along with his Wrestling commitments.
With Tristen reaching a new milestone, he has now committed himself to the U. S. NAVY after passing the background and physical to be cleared for entrance to the Nuclear Engineer Program this Fall. He was recruited to enter the STEM Program for the Navy due to his high testing scores which came from having a 3.83 GPA on a full course load as a Senior which includes a couple of AP classes and one Honors class. Being able to achieve those both simultaneously was a big goal for him.
All of our staff are very proud of Tristen and his accomplishments during his time with us. We all want to wish him the best in his future and will continue to provide the guidance he needs to keep him on his goals.
