For the past nine years, Panos Panagiotou has committed himself to our academy program, improving his athletic ability in all areas. When he first started our program, he enrolled as the younger brother of another successful athlete and was focused on playing flag football for FNL. While playing flag football, Panos was able to develop a solid base with his change of direction, deceleration strength, field vision and teamwork. This gave him the ability to transfer those skills to the sport of lacrosse once he entered high school.
At Los Alamitos High School, he has been able to accomplish more than being a Junior Varsity lacrosse athlete during his 9th & 10th years and being on the lacrosse Varsity team for his 11th—12th years. Panos has not only been committed to his sport in high school, but also his academics. He has been able to hold his academics to a high degree which helped him receive the PTSA Award of Excellence and a Scholar Athletic Award in May of 2024. He also became a member of the Principal’s Honor Roll for all four years, as well as an Advanced Placement (AP) Scholar with Honor.
He not only has those athletic and academic achievements, but he also demonstrates excellent time management skills from being a member of the STEM-ED Club (11th—12th years), a Patrol Leader as a member of the Boy Scouts of America (9th—12th years), and a Los Alamitos High School Chess Club member (10th—12th years). He is a true student-athlete, balancing his commitment to the sport of lacrosse along with his strong dedication to his studies.
Panos has not yet committed to an institution of higher learning since he is waiting for his top school of choice, University of Southern California, to return a response to his application. He wants to continue his studies to pursue a degree in Business Administration with a possible concentration in Sports Business. As his coach, I have no doubt that he will continue to excel and bring great honor to any academic institution that extends him the opportunity to showcase his talents.
Panos is an intelligent individual who has demonstrated outstanding dedication, skill, and commitment to his sport of lacrosse. He has consistently exhibited remarkable athletic abilities and sportsmanship, in addition to exceptional leadership qualities that can benefit him in all aspects of life.
