In February 2024, Jaysen Burkley joined Champion’s QUEST with the goal of securing a spot on his varsity team and eventually becoming a college athlete. As a 10th grader, Jaysen was aware of his areas for improvement and committed fully to his training. He wasted no time addressing his weaknesses, pushing through discomfort to significantly enhance his agility and upper body strength.

At Champion’s QUEST, our focus is to ensure Jaysen is physically equipped to perform at the highest level, particularly at the guard position. To achieve this, we’ve targeted three key areas:
● Vertical Jump to finish effectively around the basket.
● Quick Agility to cover 94 feet on the court and recover on defense.
● Upper Body Strength to protect the ball and withstand physical play.

Jaysen’s vertical jump has improved significantly, rising 6.5” from 32.5 inches to 39 inches. His linear and lateral agility times have both decreased by 1 second, and his upper body strength has skyrocketed from 32 push-ups and 5.5 pull-ups to an impressive peak of 51 push-ups and 7 pull-ups—all achieved in just one year.

In this short time, Jaysen made incredible progress, boosting his athletic score from 27.9 to 50.4—a remarkable 77.06% improvement. His contributions to the Woodrow Wilson High School team have been crucial, and he’s looking forward to a strong AAU season as he prepares for his senior year. With one more year of training ahead, we are excited to continue supporting Jaysen’s growth and eagerly anticipate what the future holds as he enters his senior season.
