Kristina Arai began her journey at Champion’s QUEST back in December 2016 to become the best athlete and soccer player possible. After going through her Athletic Benchmark Testing, Kristina set goals of improving her speed, agility, and strength. Kristina also set long-term goals of being a starter on her high school varsity soccer team and playing collegiate soccer.
10 months later, Kristina has dedicated over 72 hours to her training at Champion’s QUEST to accomplish these goals. In addition to her high school and club soccer practices, Kristina has attended Speed, Strength, Flexibility, Champion’s Challenge and College Prep Soccer Clinics to develop her athleticism on the soccer field.
In under a year of training, Kristina has seen her total athlete score improve by 168% and she attainted the “red” Olympic jersey level! Kristina’s improvements have been consistent across the board in her athleticism. She was able to increase her lower body power and upped her standing vertical jump by 4 inches. Kristina translated this power to her speed as well and lowered her 10-yard sprint time from 1.80s to 1.63s. Strength gains were also seen as Kristina upped her push up score by 13 repetitions and her plank hold time by 2.5 minutes. Kristina even did a pull-up after not being able to do one back in December. However, Kristina’s biggest development has been seen in her agility as she improved her linear, lateral and single leg agility scores by 2 seconds!
Kristina is a sophomore at Los Alamitos High School and she plays her club soccer for the Slammers FC ’01 team coached by Vadim Tolstolutsky. Kristina is a versatile player who can play anywhere in the defensive or midfield positions and even has experience playing as a striker. Her technical skills and ability to read the game allow her to succeed anywhere on the soccer field. Recently, Kristina was named a member of the Los Al varsity soccer team for this upcoming 2017-2018 season.
