Cyrus Farrell began his training at with the Champion’s QUEST Soccer Academy in August of 2017. Cyrus is a 14-year-old soccer player and he plays the outside defender position. Cyrus is currently playing in AYSO’s Region 106 in Lakewood. When he first started at Champion’s Quest Cyrus was in eighth grade and set a year-long goal to make it on to his high school soccer team the next year.
In August of this year, one year later, Cyrus tried out for the Millikan High School soccer team and made it on the Freshman team, achieving his goal! Cyrus put in many hours of training to make sure that he reached his goal, clocking in 120 hours. Cyrus attends the strength, speed, and soccer skills clinics at Champion’s QUEST to continue to improve his physical and technical abilities as a soccer player.
Cyrus has made an overall athletic improvement of 139%. He has seen a large improvement in his core and upper body strength. Cyrus lengthened his plank hold time from 0:37 min to 3:20 min and can now do 61 push-ups in 1 minute. Cyrus lowered his 1-2 and 1-4 agility test times from 9.53s to 7.22s and 10.78s to 7.85s. Cyrus has also enhanced his power and speed scores by increasing his vertical jump and sprinting speed. Cyrus has shown great improvements on the skill side as well. He is more confident when dribbling the ball and taking on opponents. He has increased his strength on the ball and can deliver accurate passes. Defensively Cyrus’ positioning and timing have improved immensely.
Cyrus continues to develop as an athlete and as an individual. He always puts forth his best effort and continues to strive to improve himself on and off the field. Cyrus’ next goal that he set for himself is to make it on the Varsity team and become the captain. Continue to work hard Cyrus and we look forward to helping you reach more of your goals!
