How This Soccer Player’s Speed Took Him From Defender To Goal Scorer!
Troy Flores started his training at Champion’s QUEST last year and has seen a major improvement in his athletic performance. He came in at 12-years-old, needing to improve his running form and was unable to complete even one pull-up. Fast forward one year and Troy has shaved off over half of a second on his 10-yard dash and can bust out an impressive 24 pull-ups!
Troy has noticed an improvement in running mechanics and strength on the ball during soccer practices and games. Troy has surpassed his initial athletic performance goals and is now looking to achieve stats equivalent to a high school athlete as an 8th grader! Our staff at Champion’s QUEST has no doubt that Troy will achieve this goal based on his commitment to attend training sessions multiple times a week and his strong desire to improve.
At our most recent Champion’s QUEST Awards Banquet, Troy was nominated by the coaching staff to receive the prestigious Captain Award for the 11-13-year-old age group. These athletes are chosen because they serve as leaders to their peers here in the Academy, the classroom and the community!
School may be out during the Summer but for Troy, that doesn’t mean he’s off of training. Troy has been attending our Summer Soccer and Speed Camps and will continue attending Strength, Speed and Soccer Clinics throughout the summer.
On the soccer field, Troy’s coaches have noticed a significant improvement in his speed and strength as well. Last month, Troy made the jump from a Flight 2 to a Flight 1 Slammers FC team! His new coach has also moved Troy from the defender to striker position due to his speed and strength in an attempt to break through the opposition’s defense. In his most recent tournament, Troy not only scored 2 goals but also assisted on 8 others!
Troy’s Parents told us that he attributes his success as an athlete to his consistent attendance at Champion’s QUEST and the confidence his coaches have instilled in him. We are so proud of Troy and are looking forward to following his continued success as he continues prepping for High School and College!
