How This Athlete’s Training Earned Her A 125% Athletic Improvement And A Spot In The U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy League

Kayla Kanaly began her High School Prep Development at Champion’s QUEST Soccer Academy in June 2018. Kayla (or “KK” by her peers) is a 13-year-old soccer player who will be attending Los Alamitos High School in the Fall. KK and her CDA Slammers HB ’05 team, coached by Luis Segovia, recently qualified for the Cal South Western Regionals in Boise, Idaho last month.

On KK’s first day at Champion’s QUEST, she set short-term goals of playing soccer either in high school or at the Academy level. KK’s long-term goals is to earn a scholarship to play soccer at the University of Oregon. To reach her goals, KK attended Strength and Speed Clinics at Champion’s QUEST and also private soccer training sessions to improve the technical aspects of her athletic ability.

Over the past year, KK has made an improvement of 125% in her overall athleticism. KK was able to improve her 10-yard sprint time from 1.89s to 1.75s. KK has posted faster times in all three agility categories: her linear agility time went from 8.66s to 7.22, her lateral agility time went from 9.07s to 7.40s, and her single leg agility time went from 4.76s to 4.03s. She also showed increased strength by upping her push-up total from 25 to 44 and her plank hold time from 2 to 4 minutes!

Recently, KK has accepted the opportunity to join the Pateadores G’05 Academy team and will compete in the U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy League this upcoming season. We are extremely proud of KK and look forward to watching her continued success!
