Bela’s Soccer Success Story

Back in July of 2017, Isabela Menes started her journey to become the best athlete and soccer player possible by enrolling at Champion’s QUEST. Isabela “Bela” Menes is a 12-year old striker/midfielder who knew that she needed to improve her physical, technical and mental abilities to take her game to the next level.

On her first day at Champion’s QUEST, Bela set goals of improving her total body strength, sprinting technique, change of direction speed and posture. On the field, Bela also wanted to have more of a scoring mentality and turn her negatives into positives. Bela’s long-term goal is to play soccer professionally and be a sports doctor for kids.

Since beginning at Champion’s QUEST, Bela has dedicated over 33 hours to her training and has improved her total athlete score by 75% in just over 6 months!

Bela has improved all 3 of her agility tests (linear, lateral and single leg) and reduced the imbalances between her right and left legs. She also showed developments in her speed and Bela was able to lower her 10-yard and 5-10-5 Change of Direction tests. However, Bela’s biggest improvements have been seen in her strength as she has been able to increase her push-ups from 21 to 30 repetitions in a minute and upped her plank hold time from 40 seconds to 1 minute and 52 seconds!

In December, Bela participated in the Anaheim Surf Winter Classic Tournament with her LA Galaxy South Bay G’05 team and scored 4 goals in 4 games! Recently, Bela tried out for and made the Track Team for her Newcomb Middle School and will be participating in the 400m and 800m events. Bela also runs the mile in under 6 minutes!

Bela has been playing soccer since the age of 5 and this past week, Bela was offered and accepted a roster spot with the Pateadores Developmental Academy soccer team coached by Coach Jenny Hammonds!

Keep up all the hard work Bela and I’m looking forward to following your continued success!
