How This Athlete Gained A 685% Increase in Athletic Ability
When Kalel first joined Champion’s QUEST he was not satisfied with his performances on the soccer field, but had the desire to work hard to improve. He set a goal to become a better defender so he could contribute more to his teams moving forward. In order to do that, he needed to get faster and stronger, while also improving his technical ability.
Kalel has devoted hours of training to ensure that we would reach his goal, putting in 103 hours in total. He attends our strength, speed, and power clinics in order to improve the physical aspect of his athleticism as well as our soccer clinics to enhance his technical ability.
Kalel has made an astounding 685% increase in his overall athletic ability over the 8 months he has been enrolled. He has made improvements in both his physical and technical ability across the board. On the physical side, Kalel increased his plank hold from 1:02 to 4:34 and can do 40 push-ups in 1 minute. He has improved his 10-yard sprint time from 2.08s to 1.69s and his 5-10-5 score from 6.37s to 5.52 s. He has also drastically decreased his times for the 1-2 (10.53s to 8.13s), 1-4 (12.84s to 9.02s), and SST (11.43s to 4.56s) tests. On the technical side, Kalel feels more comfortable with the ball at his feet and can deliver more accurate passes. He is not afraid of defending opponents one-on-one and can maintain possession after he wins a challenge.
Kalel’s development as an athlete has only begun and now that summer is here, he is looking to increase his volume of training and progress himself even further. Kalel’s next goal is to reach the Olympic level on our Champion Chart, which is the equivalent of reaching the physical ability of a high school athlete.
