Success Story: Christopher Howard

Most athletes want to reach a position in their athleticism where they can perform at a level which is above their peers. We focus on helping all athletes reach a level where they are referred as the rock of the team. Los Alamitos High School Senior, Christopher Howard is that one player for their Varsity Basketball team. Back in 2013 when Christopher became a member of our facility, he was playing six different sports with a focus on general athleticism. Since then he has been able to move up through the different levels of Basketball at Los Alamitos and is a Varsity Sprinter on the school’s Track & Field team as well.

During the 2015-16 Basketball season, Christopher helped his team go undefeated in the Sunset League and to an overall record of 25-8. He also used his talents on the Track team by running the 100, 200 meter sprints and 4 x 100 meter relay. This is Christopher’s senior year and his team will truly look to his guidance as leader on the court to be a player that can be a threat on both sides of the ball. With his quickness and being such a powerful athlete, Christopher has an extreme amount of talent that can lead his team to another winning season.

It has been coming up on four years that Christopher has been attending Champion’s QUEST and he started with the group session and slowly moved in private base training.
During his time, we have worked on every area of training and this Winter we have started to focus on his flexibility to help with not only gaining some range of motion in his hips and shoulder but to also help him recover from his teams practices. During this past Fall Evaluations we had in October there were a couple of test that he was able to break the gym records. He has one of the top marks for approach vertical jump and on the Pro-Agility test, which both can be Basketball related. When Christopher puts his mind into his training there is so much he can accomplished and is able to progress himself as that dominant/leader on his team.

Every athletes has a dream and we are here to help guide them in reaching that dream. With Christopher already having a strong work ethic and he understands that improving his flexibility will also improve his overall strength, power & speed. Being a starter this season, he will have many opportunities to showcase his talents to college scouts that look for his quickness on the court, strong defense, leaderships qualities and overall highly gifted athletic ability. All these athletic qualities will help him to reach that ultimate High School goal of a collegiate scholarship. Keeping him healthy for the season is a main focus of our training and we are also geared on maintaining that focus along with improving his quickness and reaction time. Christopher is always willing to do all it takes to help his talents increase and we will always be here to guide him to his goals.
