Aidan Wait CQ
Hello! My name is Aidan Wait and I am a new assistant soccer performance coach here at Champion’s Quest. When I was growing up, I competed in multiple sports but ended up falling in love with soccer when I was about 12. At this point, I was only in middle school, so I decided to join one of my close friend’s club teams called FRAM SK over in the South Bay. I quickly adapted to the quick playstyle of club soccer, and after my freshman year playing frosh-soph soccer, I got called up to the topflight team in the club. From this point on, I knew that I wanted to play college soccer and maybe even beyond, so I put my head down and worked as hard as I possibly could to get there. By the time my senior year came, I was the captain of the varsity soccer team, as well as being the captain for my club team. Then, in May of 2018, I committed to the men’s soccer team at California State University Los Angeles.
I ended up redshirting my freshman year, but by the time my sophomore year came, I had used the same mentality over the summer to reshape my game both physically and mentally. I started to get major minutes and contributions on the field through goals and assist, and that year of 2021 we ended up winning the NCAA Division II National Championship after going 18-2-3. At the end of my college career in 2023, we ended up with a record of 70-6-12 over the 4 years while bringing in 9 total titles. Playing college soccer has allowed me to obtain my BS in
Kinesiology: Rehab and Therapeutic Exercise as well as currently work on obtaining my MS in Kinesiology: Exercise Science. On top of this, I will be working this summer to continue my education by obtaining my CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist), as well as obtaining various licenses with the US Soccer Federation. I really enjoy coaching at all levels and ages, as I believe every athlete has vast room for development, regardless of their experience. While I am young, I would love to continue coaching on the field and floor to help athletes develop both physically and mentally, and then some day I do see myself getting into the
management side of coaching. This would then allow me to use all the experience I gained over the years to help other coaches grow their careers and help to facilitate the academy experience for all. Some of my interests and hobbies include doing further research into exercise and recovery, as well as simple things such as camping, listening to music and playing different sports. I look forward to adding to the competitive and community aspects of Champion’s Quest, as well as making sure every athlete has a great time while pushing themselves to new levels!
