About Coach Ian
Coach Ian Kanoa Anderson brings passion, diverse experience, and a strong foundation in athletic development to Champion’s QUEST. A Huntington Beach native, Ian played baseball at Edison High School and even had the opportunity to play in Japan before being recruited to Sonoma State University under legendary coach John Goelz.
At Sonoma State, Ian competed against international teams like Team Italia and helped lead his team to the playoffs in 2022, the first time in eight years. He graduated cum laude with a degree in Kinesiology and an emphasis in Exercise Science.
After his playing career, Ian dedicated himself to coaching, working with collegiate programs such as California State University Northridge and local sports organizations throughout Orange County. His coaching experience includes supporting athletes with disabilities, volunteering at local little leagues, and helping players build confidence, physical strength, and mental resilience.
“I have been coaching youth baseball athletes and athletes with disabilities since I was in middle school. I was taught from a young age to give back and I want to help give back to the sport that has given me so much. At the end of the day, I want to make a positive impact in my athletes’ lives and help them improve physically, mentally, and as people.”
