Team Training
“Champion’s QUEST has made me confident, positive and pro-active in my life and athletics.” 15y.o. volleyball player - Seal Beach, CA
Why does team performance training need to be a part of your season?
A coach has only so much time to devote to his team. They spend almost all of the scheduled practice time trying to improve sport skills and game strategy. Most coaches only spend a part of the season on the conditioning of the athlete and almost no time on athletic foundation. This is because this isn’t their job, area of expertise or what they are trained in. If the athletes aren’t continuously improving their foundation then the team’s full potential will not be met. This is where the Champion’s QUEST Athlete Academy comes into play.
How do we get results?
- Proper education by our Certified Sports Performance Coaches
- Form and Balance first! Everything else Second.
- Consistency in training through commitment.
Why will training as a team result in a championship season?
During the season, include strength training, agility training and/or speed training into their weekly schedule to maintain off-season improvements. The biggest difference between season and off-season training is the intensity. Not only will in-season training with the Champion’s QUEST Performance School increase recovery time, prevent injury, increase agility and improve speed, but it will lead to optimal teamwork. It is common sense to know that optimal team cohesion and improved athletic foundation will greatly improve any team’s season outcome.
Getting Started
Many athletes play numerous sports throughout the year and claim not to have time to train. Once you recognize that there are areas of athleticism that are either missing or inadequate in your team training, you must next understand improving your athletic foundation has either not been consistent on a year round schedule or non existent.

Not only do your athletes need to train for the entire off season, but they must train during the season as well. Here is what a youth travel baseball coach had to say:
“We’ve noticed with some of the bigger players that their quickness in moving to balls has improved. This has been especially important, not only with our catchers, but our corner infielders. We’ve also noticed the stamina of the team has improved. We used to play a 5 game tournament and the players seemed exhausted by the end of it. Now after the 5th game, they’re still running around chasing each other all over the place. As a coaching staff, one of the things you really want to see is team cohesiveness. Champion’s QUEST has helped with that tremendously since this gives our players the ability to interact outside of the normal practice routine, and yet it’s not just for ‘fun’. The kids have to work hard, work together, and encourage each other. As a result, the team is much more cohesive.” More importantly, the athletes themselves notice a difference. They’ve noticed that they can run faster and they’re getting stronger from training. – Coach Jerry Antolin, Long Beach Blaze

"Overall it made me grow in the little things like strength, confidence, acceleration, etc. It makes you develop the mechanics of all sports. It's made me put my body in shape. I realize how important it is to be in focus. It's focused straight to the point, takes out the time to develop "you" not others. They get to know your weaknesses. Also they have no history with you so they can say how it is. If you are not there then you can have no success. They have made me come face to face with reality. They have put me into situations that make me have to choose between giving up or push it out. I'm not involved with their bull anymore. I'm not in drama. I just play for me. I am also in much better shape by not just getting school practice. Let's just say I have not given up."
